Senior Data Scientist (NLP/LLM)

Location: Remote - United States. Candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not being considered.

Salary: $147,900–$203,000 annually, depending on U.S. labor-market region, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain support-interaction quality classifiers using NLP and LLM-based approaches, including evaluation, versioning, and recurring accuracy reviews.
• Develop support performance metrics and analytics covering member effort, case complexity, service quality, satisfaction, and operational performance.
• Improve forecasting models for support volume, capacity, and staffing demand to support operational planning across channels.
• Build data foundations linking support interactions with member identities and lifecycle data to analyze NPS, CSAT, retention, and churn.
• Partner with Member Experience, operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn business needs and model outputs into scalable data solutions and actionable decisions.
• Create recurring dashboards, reporting tools, and decision-support systems using SQL, Python, and data engineering practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, with ownership of high-impact business problems end to end.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including analytical data modeling, machine learning workflows, and production-quality measurement systems.
• Experience building and evaluating NLP or LLM-based models, with structured evaluation and model quality monitoring.
• Experience with forecasting, time-series modeling, or quantitative methods for operational planning and business decisions.
• Strong data engineering intuition and experience unifying data from multiple systems into reliable, scalable datasets.
• Experience with modern cloud and data platforms such as Databricks, AWS, dbt, Snowflake, or similar tools, plus the ability to communicate analytical concepts to non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with customer support, contact center, customer experience, or operations data.
• Experience defining or operationalizing business KPIs for vendor management, service quality, or member experience.
• Experience in subscription, membership, consumer technology, or digital health businesses.
