Capital Equipment Project Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $169,000 – $208,000

What you will do

• Own capital equipment programs from specification and procurement through installation and startup.
• Write equipment specifications and URS documents to ensure vendor quotes are comparable and enforceable.
• Manage installation projects, including rigging, utilities, and integration with construction and operations teams.
• Execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) to identify and resolve issues early.
• Hand over equipment to operations with comprehensive training and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering capital equipment projects from specification through site acceptance in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to write technical specifications rigorous enough for machine rejection.
• Experience coordinating rigging, utilities, and trades for major installations.
• Strong track record of holding vendors to acceptance criteria under schedule pressure.
• Must be able to work on-site in one of the specified US locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with fabrication or heavy assembly equipment.
• Background in project cost control and machine safety compliance.
• Experience managing multi-machine programs.
