Senior Derivatives Trader (Digital Assets)

Location: New York, United States

Base salary: $175,000–$215,000 USD annually, plus equity and an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the execution and management of derivatives strategies across futures, perpetuals, options, and structured products.
• Identify and evaluate relative value, arbitrage, basis, volatility, and other trading opportunities across digital asset markets.
• Manage positions, P&L, liquidity, leverage, margin requirements, counterparty exposure, and portfolio risk.
• Develop market views and trading strategies using quantitative analysis, fundamental research, and market intelligence.
• Help shape the derivatives trading business, evaluate new markets and counterparties, and build institutional trading infrastructure.
• Mentor traders and collaborate with leadership, sales, risk, product, engineering, operations, compliance, and legal teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional derivatives trading experience at a bank, hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, market maker, asset manager, or digital asset trading organization.
• Demonstrated success trading derivatives and managing risk through multiple market cycles.
• Deep expertise in futures, perpetuals, options, volatility, basis, structured products, market structure, liquidity, pricing, execution, and hedging.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, communication, decision-making, and capital management skills.
• Experience independently developing and executing sophisticated trading strategies across digital asset markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of derivatives trading experience and significant crypto-native derivatives experience.
• Institutional relationships with exchanges, market makers, liquidity providers, hedge funds, and digital asset participants.
• Experience building or scaling a derivatives desk, trading strategy, or institutional trading business.
• Programming, quantitative modeling, or data analysis skills, particularly Python.
• Experience with algorithmic trading, automated execution, electronic market-making infrastructure, or regulated financial institutions.
