Manager, Risk (Quantitative Trading)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid working opportunities available

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual base salary plus eligible discretionary bonus

Quantitative trading firm developing electronic trading infrastructure and providing trading, engineering, risk management, compliance, and business support services.

What you will do

• Provide risk oversight for Americas trading activities, focusing on electronic trading and market risk.
• Assist the regional Head of Risk with managing and modeling risk for trading activities.
• Work with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Core Engineering, and Prime Brokers to resolve trading-related issues.
• Enhance trading risk controls and mitigate operational risk with Risk Management and Risk Technology teams.
• Conduct ad-hoc risk and margin analysis and perform regular back-testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; a quantitative master’s degree is highly regarded.
• 3–6 years of experience in electronic trading risk at a quantitative proprietary trading firm or in sell-side electronic trading.
• Solid Python and database proficiency.
• Experience working with compliance, business management, and technology teams.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
