Incident Response Senior Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote in Canada; the role requires legal entitlement to work in Canada. The description also references US-based candidates in Pacific or Mountain time zones. Travel on short notice may be required, up to 30% of the time.

Salary: CAD 100,000–165,000 per year, plus variable/incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead incident response engagements for organizations facing advanced threats.
• Develop threat-hunting methods across large datasets.
• Conduct intrusion investigations under the direction of outside counsel.
• Perform host and network forensics across Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• Perform basic malware analysis and create tactical and strategic remediation plans.
• Prepare reports, presentations, recommendations, and findings for customers, regulators, and legal counsel.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams in a matrixed consulting environment.
• Experience with incident response, computer forensics, network forensics, reverse engineering, remediation, network operations, or cloud incident response.
• Knowledge of network protocols and tools such as Bro/Zeek or Suricata, and experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP incident response methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication, project management, and independent task execution skills.
• Ability to travel on short notice up to 30% of the time.
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada is required.

Nice to have

• BA, BS, MA, or MS in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, information security, cybersecurity, intelligence studies, or a related field.
• Relevant work experience or training may be considered in place of a degree.
