Senior Threat Response Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote — USA only; Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm MT, with participation in a recurring monthly 24x7 on-call rotation.

Base salary: $122,500–$175,000 USD annually, excluding commission, bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Investigate detected threats and confirmed compromises on customer endpoints subscribed to the Active Remediation MDR service.
• Use security products to analyze, contain, and remediate threats in customer environments.
• Prepare clear technical reports documenting remediation actions, environment cleanup, and protection strategies.
• Develop response strategies that improve the security posture of the customer base.
• Collaborate with Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting, Intelligence, and Product teams on timely threat remediation methods.
• Prioritize operational tasks and participate in the recurring monthly on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills gained through direct experience responding to security events and threats.
• Mastery of Endpoint Detection and Response products, including CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne, or CarbonBlack.
• Deep understanding of Windows and macOS internal system functionality.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve workflows and problem-solving.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Ability to work from the USA during 8:00am–4:00pm MT and participate in a monthly on-call rotation.

• Understanding of security operations, enterprise technology, and network controls or protocols.
