Senior Mechanical Engineer – Healthcare

Location: Hybrid role in Charleston, South Carolina, United States; travel to project sites and client meetings required.

What you will do

• Own complex mechanical engineering projects for healthcare facilities from project start through completion.
• Design HVAC systems, hydronics, steam and condensate systems, and constant- and variable-volume air distribution systems.
• Design plumbing systems, including medical gas, hot and cold water, waste and vent, and compressed air systems.
• Develop fire protection performance drawings and specifications for wet-pipe and dry-pipe systems.
• Coordinate mechanical work across internal and external disciplines, clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Manage field surveys, project budgets, design documents, technical specifications, construction administration, RFIs, submittals, site observations, proposals, and peer reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or an architectural engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer registration in South Carolina and other states as required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with Revit, Microsoft Office, and an HVAC load analysis program such as HAP or TRACE.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, independent working, and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work in the United States, drive to project sites, perform customary field work, and hold a valid driver’s license.
