Electrical Design Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, Denver, or Dallas, with the posting also listing Sunnyvale; approximately 25% travel

Salary: $195,000–$225,000 per year plus bonus and restricted stock units

What you will do

• Advance electrical designs for large-scale data center campuses from conceptual sketches through construction-ready documentation.
• Design and specify critical power-path equipment, including transformers, LV/MV switchgear, UPS systems, switchboards, cabling, busway, panels, protection and controls, and automatic transfer systems.
• Perform short-circuit, protection, arc-flash, load-flow, harmonics, and dynamic transient analysis studies.
• Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings from external consultants against the project Basis of Design.
• Support field engineering during construction by resolving RFIs, reviewing submittals, and providing design clarifications.
• Participate in factory witness testing for engineered and complex electrical equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience, primarily in data centers or mission-critical industrial facilities.
• Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code and relevant NFPA and IEEE standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, and SKM.
• Experience taking complex electrical designs from schematic phases through construction execution.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with mechanical, real estate, power engineering, construction, design, and customer stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Active Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with alternative energy inputs, Battery Energy Storage Systems, SCADA, and Emergency Power Monitoring Systems.
• Mega-project field construction experience in data centers or similar mission-critical facilities.
• Experience supporting hyperscale clients in a fast-paced design/build environment.
