Manager, SOX - Business Process

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 base salary annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, implement, and continuously improve the internal control environment for core business processes.
• Build and operate internal controls over financial reporting, including processes covering order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report.
• Partner with Engineering, Finance, Sales, Accounting, and Operations to embed controls into scalable systems and workflows.
• Identify process and control gaps in ambiguous environments and implement pragmatic, risk-based solutions.
• Drive automated, audit-ready processes as the organization prepares for public-company-level rigor.
• Manage multiple control initiatives independently in a fast-growing environment.

Requirements

• Experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or accounting, including hands-on ICFR experience.
• Strong understanding of SOX 404 requirements, including control design, documentation, and testing.
• Experience designing and implementing controls in core business processes with a focus on scalability and automation.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and Operations.
• CPA required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear control documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience leading SOX readiness or a pre-IPO journey and building controls from the ground up.
• Background in a high-growth technology, infrastructure, or AI/ML company.
• Experience with ERP implementations or optimization, including NetSuite.
• Experience working with external auditors and preparing for first-year SOX audits.
• Experience implementing automated controls with Engineering or Systems teams.
