Laboratory Technician (Water Technology)

What you will do

• Analyze facility effluent using EPA testing methods and current laboratory SOPs.
• Sample, test, and accept client waste deliveries while entering data into databases.
• Tag waste in compliance with the RCRA Part B Permit and report discrepancies.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments and perform wet chemical, ion exchange, and related testing.
• Prepare and standardize laboratory reagent solutions and maintain laboratory supplies.
• Support laboratory safety meetings, housekeeping, and compliance with safety procedures.

Requirements

• AA degree or equivalent in chemistry, environmental science, or chemical engineering.
• At least one year of industrial or inorganic analytical testing experience.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry related to metals, cyanides, and toxic substances.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, toxic inorganic waste streams, fumes, and odors.
• Ability to respond to audible alarms, exit the plant within one minute, work in hot conditions, and traverse the building and grounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including a hardhat, face shield, safety glasses, earplugs, and respirator.
