TL;DR
Senior Software Integration Manager (Automotive): Leading software integration, release execution, and launch readiness for embedded vehicle controllers with an accent on real-time systems, cross-functional delivery planning, and software-hardware-validation coordination. Focus on resolving technical blockers, managing memory and CPU tradeoffs, driving verification and validation, and supporting root-cause investigations for critical integration issues.

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid attendance at a specific location at least 3 times per week

What you will do

  • Lead software integration planning and execution for embedded vehicle controllers and software releases.
  • Develop integrated delivery plans covering requirements, dependencies, timing, priorities, risks, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate software, calibration, validation, hardware, systems, suppliers, program stakeholders, and external engineering partners.
  • Drive execution forums, resolve technical blockers and resource constraints, and communicate decisions and recovery plans.
  • Lead software verification and validation planning, Controls Process of Engineering activities, and launch-readiness work.
  • Support root-cause investigations, corrective actions, process improvement, and mentoring in integration leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software, controls, calibration, systems integration, validation, electrical architecture, or related technical product development.
  • Experience leading complex technical workstreams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives in a product development environment.
  • Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems and software, hardware, calibration, and validation interactions.
  • Experience with software builds, testing, validation, configuration management, issue tracking, and technical dependency management.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future GM immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree and 7+ years of relevant automotive or embedded software experience.
  • Experience with vehicle electrical architecture, communication networks, Software Defined Vehicles, and automotive control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting vehicle or controller-level issues and working with suppliers or external engineering partners.
  • Familiarity with Agile methods, structured problem solving, change management, build tools, and configuration management systems.
