API Developer (Java/Spring Boot)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $100k–$140k per year

What you will do

• Define and document API specifications, endpoints, data models, protocols, and usage guidance for REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Build and integrate APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and other security practices.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; debug issues and improve API reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Manage API versions, maintain backward compatibility, and support API consumers.
• Collaborate with frontend and backend developers, architects, QA engineers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience; education may be substituted with 8 years of experience.
• Advanced AWS, Git, Java REST Web Services, Spring Boot, and SQL skills.

Nice to have

• Intermediate Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, Python, or Ruby skills.
