Manager, Application Engineering

Location: Boxborough, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid role requiring 50% of time in-office and a reasonable commuting distance from the office. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Salary: $100,870–$187,110 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop Application Engineers and Technical Support professionals.
• Set team priorities, manage workloads, establish performance expectations, and implement development plans.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to solve customer challenges and support business growth.
• Manage technical inquiries, escalations, case backlogs, response times, service-level performance, and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Build technical authority in sensing products, applications, system-level solutions, regulations, and industry standards.
• Communicate customer needs, market trends, and product improvement opportunities to Engineering and Product Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in application engineering, technical support, product engineering, systems engineering, or related technical functions.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and customer-facing presentation skills.
• Experience leading technical teams in manufacturing, instrumentation, industrial technology, or a related environment.
• Must live within reasonable commuting distance of the Boxborough, Massachusetts office and work in the office 50% of the time.
