Security Manager, Intellectual Property Protection (DLP)

Location: Onsite in Burbank, California, United States; local candidates will be considered first.

Base salary: $121,500–$181,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end technical protection for unannounced licensed products from concept development through public announcement.
• Engineer embargo controls including code names, need-to-know access, segregated workspaces, access reviews, and coordinated reveal plans.
• Deploy protections for digital and physical assets, including watermarking, DRM, secure asset management, and controlled licensor workflows.
• Extend confidentiality and security controls to manufacturers, agencies, photographers, logistics providers, retailers, and other third parties.
• Engineer and operate DLP across endpoints, email, web, and cloud applications; tune detection rules and respond to alerts.
• Lead leak investigations, incident response, evidence preservation, containment, and communication with Legal, Licensing, and affected licensors.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional information security experience, including at least 3 years in hands-on security engineering focused on data protection, DLP, insider risk, or content security.
• Experience protecting embargoed or pre-release products, films, games, or marketing campaigns under entertainment or licensing confidentiality requirements.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating DLP and data protection tooling across endpoints, email, and cloud environments.
• Experience designing confidential project controls, access models, segregated workspaces, content protections, and reveal plans.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, cloud and SaaS security, endpoint security, logging, monitoring, digital forensics, and sensitive investigations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, plus strong communication and cross-functional project management skills.

Nice to have

• Entertainment, licensing, retail, or consumer products industry experience.
• Scripting or automation skills with Python or PowerShell.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CISM, or OSCP.
