Senior Manager, Detection & Response (D&R) (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid; Mountain View, CA; Pittsburgh, PA; or Seattle, WA. In-office work is required at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $212,000–$307,000 per year for Mountain View and Seattle; $191,000–$277,000 per year for Pittsburgh. Annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are also available.

What you will do

• Lead and scale the Detection & Response team and its cybersecurity capabilities across vehicle, cloud, and enterprise environments.
• Design, develop, and implement SIEM, EDR, network anomaly detection, incident response automation, and forensic tooling.
• Integrate threat intelligence into detection strategy and lead proactive threat-hunting initiatives.
• Drive cross-functional security projects, including centralized log management, CAN-IDS integration, and Security Operations Center improvements.
• Collaborate with Incident Response and Security Operations during investigations, including leadership during critical incidents and participation in an on-call rotation.
• Manage, mentor, and grow cybersecurity engineers while leading quarterly and annual planning, tracking, and reporting.

Requirements

• Strong experience in threat detection, incident response, forensic analysis, and end-to-end incident management.
• Experience defining and executing technical strategies or roadmaps and authoring and maintaining detections.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, NDR, Linux, macOS, Windows, AWS, and Kubernetes security.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, Git, and Terraform.
• Deep knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, modern adversarial techniques, and NIST CSF.
• Ability to write quality, testable Python and C++ code, with 10+ years of security experience and 3+ years managing cybersecurity engineering or operations teams.

Nice to have

• Vehicle, embedded, or OT security experience.
• Experience with cybersecurity data lakes, AWS Athena, Snowflake, Zero Trust Architecture, auditd, sysmon, eBPF, or proactive threat hunting.
