Senior Detection and Response Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $120,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity, performance bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead incident response and digital forensics across distributed ground stations and cloud infrastructure.
• Build custom SIEM detection rules, behavioral analytics, and threat-hunting queries.
• Operate 24/7 security monitoring across AWS multi-cloud environments, Linux systems, and satellite communication networks.
• Hunt advanced persistent threats targeting ground stations, RF communications, and space-based assets.
• Create incident response playbooks, escalation procedures, and communication protocols for mission-critical operations.
• Develop Python and PowerShell automation for incident response, threat hunting, and security orchestration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on SOC operations, incident response, or threat-hunting experience.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Sentinel, or Chronicle, including custom rule development.
• Digital forensics and malware analysis skills using tools such as Volatility, YARA, and hex editors.
• Experience with endpoint security platforms, network security monitoring, Linux forensics, and distributed-system log analysis.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, the Diamond Model, threat intelligence, and IOC analysis.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or authorization eligibility.

Nice to have

• Cloud security monitoring experience in AWS, Azure, or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, critical infrastructure, air-gapped, or highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of RF communications, satellite systems, or space-based asset security.
• GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, or similar incident response certification.
• Experience with SOAR workflows and government incident reporting procedures.
