Commercial Closing Senior Officer (Open to Locations w/in the M&T Footprint)

Location: Radnor, Pennsylvania, United States of America; open to locations within the M&T footprint

Salary: $39.47–$65.78 hourly (USD)

What you will do

• Manage commercial loan closings in accordance with approved borrowing parties, collateral, deal terms, and bank procedures.
• Coordinate with relationship managers, attorneys, clients, bank counsel, and internal partners after term sheets are issued.
• Validate due diligence, loan documentation, closing data, dual controls, settlement details, and funding and booking requirements.
• Issue Clear to Close approvals, confirm closing plans, communicate delays or exceptions, and resolve discrepancies.
• Review executed documents after closing and complete post-close reviews before handing off to the post-close review team and relationship liaison.
• Provide coaching and mentoring while managing multiple concurrent closing requests and escalating risk or regulatory issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience in commercial loan closing, documentation, operations, or administration; alternatively, eight years of combined higher education and work experience including four relevant years.
• Previous work leadership experience and the ability to coach and mentor colleagues.
• Specific knowledge of commercial closing processes, loan documentation, loan policies, applicable regulations, and related technology.
• Familiarity with loan approvals, escalation and exception requirements, and other approvals needed for closing.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, multiple assignments, and individual and team-based work.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of applicable products, systems, and workflows.
• Paralegal experience or experience in lending operations, underwriting, or customer service.
