CRE Loan Closing Specialist - Senior (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Columbus, OH; office workplace type.

Salary: $70,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Oversee and manage the full commercial real estate loan closing process for complex and high-value transactions.
• Lead deal teams, coordinate lenders, borrowers, legal teams, outside counsel, consultants, Credit Administration, Commercial Real Estate partners, and other stakeholders.
• Order and review due diligence, including flood determinations, insurance, title commitments, and other pre-closing items; prepare closing statements and loan-booking forms.
• Review and sign closing documents, confirm compliance with credit approval, bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Clear post-closing items and collateral exceptions, maintain accurate system-of-record information, and manage checklists, certifications, and closing files.
• Resolve lending issues, communicate and escalate risks, mentor junior loan closers, support quality assurance, and improve closing processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 7+ years of Commercial Loan Closing or Commercial Loan Administration experience.

• Strong attention to detail when reviewing credit approvals and draft loan documentation.
• Experience managing a large, complex commercial loan portfolio with multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external clients.
• Proficiency with loan management software and related tools.
• Adaptability to changes in procedures, regulations, and industry practices.
