IS Technical Specialist/Back-end Tech Lead (Java)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; office-based

Salary: $70,000–$140,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an incentive compensation plan.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, and develop systems based on user specifications.
• Build and support Java applications with APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Develop performant software using cloud-native application practices and modern data approaches.
• Provide technical assistance for hardware and software issues and balance development with production support.
• Work with technical tools for systems development, infrastructure, and application support.
• Lead specific projects and support training for less experienced staff when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 5 years of development experience with Java, API-enabled applications, and event-driven architecture.
• Ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures, with database experience including Oracle and Snowflake.
• At least 2 years of production support, infrastructure engineering, or administration experience.
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps, Kubernetes or other container technologies, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience with product teams and awareness of agile practices, combined with strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Cloud architect, engineer, or developer certification.
• Marketing applications or systems integration experience.
• Architecture or technical lead experience.
• Microservices patterns and Spring, including Spring Boot and Batch.
• Experience balancing development and support responsibilities.
