Mechanical Engineer Tech Lead (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the mechanical design strategy and technical architecture for robotic end-effector products.
• Lead mechanisms and assemblies from requirements and concept development through 3D CAD, manufacturing drawings, testing, and production hand-off.
• Lead design reviews, mentor mechanical engineers, and drive technical consistency and quality across the team.
• Gather requirements from customers and internal stakeholders and translate them into design specifications.
• Integrate cameras, sensors, PCBAs, connectors, cable routing, and enclosures into mechatronic assemblies.
• Define test and evaluation plans covering structural, environmental, durability, DFM, and DFA requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, with 6+ years of experience in mechanical design for robotics, hardware, or complex electromechanical products.
• Track record of delivering complex electromechanical or robotic systems from concept through production.
• Experience leading or mentoring mechanical engineers, defining technical direction, and developing requirements and test plans with customers or stakeholders.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX, including GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience designing for 3D printing, CNC machining, injection moulding, and sheet metal, with hands-on rapid prototyping experience.
• Practical understanding of DFM/DFA principles and experience integrating electromechanical assemblies in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Nice to have

• FEA or simulation experience covering stress, fatigue, or thermal analysis.
• Line management or people-leadership experience.
• Experience with small-batch manufacturing or production hand-off.
