Engineer – Reliability & Configuration

Location: Remote within the United States, with travel as needed to the hirify.global Restaurant Support Center in Dublin, Ohio, or other company-designated locations.

Salary: $74,000–$126,000 annually, plus a target annual bonus of 7.5%.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement software supporting high system availability.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain configuration management programs for restaurant point-of-sale applications and configurations.
• Create monitoring and problem-determination processes, investigate performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Produce technical documentation, task estimates, project status updates, and documentation aligned with IT methodology standards.
• Provide guidance to IT staff using supported systems and collaborate cross-functionally to develop technical solutions.
• Mentor new developers and oversee lower-level development efforts, including documentation reviews and PCI adherence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design and development.
• Experience with PowerShell, Ruby, or Bash scripting.
• Ability to work with Puppet Query Language and its Ruby backend.
• Knowledge of log aggregation tools such as Splunk, Looker, or ELK.
• Strong communication, analytical, learning, and problem-solving skills.
