Site Reliability Engineer (AWS GovCloud)

Location: US-based, remote. Standard US-person requirements for federal environments apply.

What you will do

• Build and operate AWS GovCloud environments with multi-account structures, guardrails, logging, security tooling, and Terraform-based provisioning.
• Develop release, patching, staged rollout, and verification machinery for cloud fleets, VM fleets, and appliance-model environments.
• Build continuous-compliance evidence pipelines for FedRAMP 20x Key Security Indicators, including collection, normalization, re-verification, and reporting.
• Instrument production with telemetry, SLOs, dashboards, and alerting owned by SRE and product engineering.
• Consolidate CI/CD pipelines for builds, signing, artifact management, quality gates, and security scanning.
• Participate in on-call for the GovCloud estate and engineer recurring incident causes away.

Requirements

• US-based availability and standard US-person eligibility for federal environments.
• Experience building or operating AWS GovCloud environments, multi-account landing zones, FIPS endpoints, and cryptographic modes.
• Experience with FedRAMP Moderate or High, IL4/IL5, or StateRAMP-equivalent boundaries, including continuous monitoring, POA&M lifecycle, patch SLAs, and 3PAO engagement.
• Experience operating VM fleets or appliance-model environments at scale, not only Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform, telemetry and data pipelines, OTEL, Grafana-class tooling, compliance-as-code, OSCAL, AWS Config rules, or OPA.
• Experience building test and verification harnesses that confirm fleet state matches compliance evidence.
