TL;DR
Site Reliability Engineer (Meet) (Linux/Kubernetes): Ensuring the reliability and scalability of Proton Meet's encrypted video calling infrastructure with an accent on operational excellence, load testing, and production debugging. Focus on designing and rolling out services, implementing observability and alerting, and solving complex reliability challenges for 24/7 systems under increasing traffic.
Location: Taipei, Taiwan; office-first hybrid work with up to 30% from home

What you will do
- Ensure the operational excellence and 24/7 reliability of Proton Meet.
- Research, develop, load-test, and roll out new services and infrastructure.
- Partner with software engineers to implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and on-call operations.
- Debug and resolve production incidents across increasingly complex, high-traffic systems.
- Support infrastructure scalability as Proton Meet usage grows.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Linux systems and internet technologies including DNS, TLS, HTTP, and WebSockets.
- Deep experience with infrastructure automation using Puppet, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Experience managing HAProxy load balancing, PostgreSQL data storage, and NATS messaging systems.
- Experience using AI agents for coding, incident response, and stress testing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with colleagues across continents and participate in on-call rotations.
- Excellent written and spoken English required.
Nice to have
- Experience with WebRTC and real-time streaming.
