IT Systems Administrator - Remote (Chicago Area)

Location: Remote (Chicago Area); minimum 5–10% travel required

What you will do

• Manage the corporate network, servers, workstations, laptops, Active Directory environments, server policies, and login scripts.
• Monitor server performance, hardware and software health, backups, antivirus protection, and endpoint security.
• Plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades, patches, installations, new technologies, capacity planning, and server tuning.
• Maintain hardware and software inventories, file shares, quotas, server audits, and physical datacenter operations.
• Manage Google Workspace and support employee onboarding, training, and Tier 1 technical support.
• Work with IT leadership, department managers, vendors, and employees to maintain reliable and secure systems.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of systems administration experience preferred.
• Experience designing and managing Active Directory and Microsoft-based systems.
• Experience supporting Windows Server 2016 and later, Windows 10/11, and macOS deployments.
• Experience with Hyper-V, IIS 10.x, web farming, load balancing, server auditing, performance monitoring, and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with SQL Server 2019+, monitoring tools, backup and recovery tools, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, managed switches, and file servers.
• Strong project planning, communication, prioritization, organization, customer service, and independent problem-solving skills; able to lift hardware up to 75 lbs.
