Tier 1 Data Center Technician (Active Secret Clearance Required)

Location: Washington, D.C.; onsite. Night shift: 6:00 PM–6:30 AM on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday.

What you will do

• Monitor and maintain server environments for a federal government agency.
• Communicate system status to stakeholders and collaborate on issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot server problems with Systems Administrators and document maintenance changes, issues, and incidents.
• Perform physical server reboots and virtual server reboots using VMware vSphere.
• Test connectivity, open problem outages, and escalate complex issues to Level 2 Operations Engineers.
• Monitor data center conditions, move equipment, assist with device and cable installation or removal, and escort uncleared workers onsite.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Degree in IT or 1–3 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, data centers, or similar help desk environments.
• Ability to work the required overnight schedule onsite.
• Experience with IT service management or ticketing systems, including ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, independent working ability, and willingness to learn new technologies.

• Knowledge of VMware vSphere.
