Sr. Network Engineer 4, Design & Architecture

Location: Virtual role based in Colorado or Illinois, United States, with up to 15% annual travel.

Salary: $102,490.09–$153,735.13 in Illinois or $102,490.09–$161,055.85 in Colorado.

What you will do

• Lead the design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of custom enterprise network solutions.
• Support customer pilots, testing, professional services projects, and the Sales organization.
• Provide Tier IV Help Desk escalation support by troubleshooting customer network issues and recommending performance improvements.
• Analyze bandwidth requirements, system interdependencies, and capacity needs; develop capacity planning models.
• Research network hardware and software, define configuration and security standards, and maintain operational procedures.
• Mentor junior network engineers, deliver technical presentations, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including nights and weekends when required.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex enterprise networks.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of vendor routers, switches, firewalls, SDWAN appliances, wireless devices, and enterprise networking technologies.
• Experience with routing, tunneling, high availability, QoS, ACLs, AAA, VLANs, wireless networking, and related network monitoring tools.
• Strong technical documentation, communication, presentation, and project coordination skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• CCNP, JNCIP, FNCSP/NSE4, CCVP, or CCSP certification.
• Experience with Cisco Firepower, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Catalyst SDWAN, Meraki, Juniper, Aerohive, Mist, or Cradlepoint.
• Knowledge of VoIP, SIP, PRI, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or SOC requirements.
