Network Engineer I (Enterprise IT & Security)

Location: Hybrid, with in-office work at least 3 days per week in Mountain View, CA; Pittsburgh, PA; or Seattle, WA.

Salary: $88,000–$121,000 per year for Mountain View and Seattle roles; $80,000–$109,000 per year for Pittsburgh roles. Additional annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are available.

What you will do

• Configure, deploy, and maintain switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls across offices and operational facilities.
• Monitor network health, respond to alerts, and triage connectivity issues across LAN, WLAN, and VPN environments.
• Support routing, switching, VLAN, and enterprise network security changes, including 802.1X and NAC solutions.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, IP address management, and standard operating procedures.
• Automate repetitive network tasks with scripting such as Python.
• Partner with IT, Security, and engineering teams while escalating complex issues to senior engineers.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of networking, IT, or related technical experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects.
• Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, routing, and switching.
• Familiarity with switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Basic scripting or automation exposure, such as Python, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States; the role requires hybrid attendance at an hirify.global office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• CCNA, JNCIA, JNCIA-DevOps, or related networking coursework or certifications.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as LibreNMS, Nautobot, or TIG stack.
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP networking, wireless networking, VPNs, or firewall administration.
• Interest in network automation, Infrastructure as Code, and version control tools such as GitHub or Spacelift.
