What you will do

• Engineer mechanical designs for energy storage, including BESS enclosures and thermal management systems.
• Own thermal design processes, ensuring cooling solutions for containers are validated through testing.
• Integrate storage systems mechanically into campus environments, managing pads, clearances, and service access.
• Conduct rigorous reviews of vendor systems to ensure performance meets fleet requirements.
• Support the field deployment of engineered designs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering for BESS, power electronics, or thermal-critical enclosures.
• Demonstrated ability to engineer and validate thermal management systems.
• Deep knowledge of safety codes shaping storage siting, specifically NFPA 855.
• Experience evaluating vendor equipment beyond standard brochures.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lithium-ion thermal behavior.
• Proficiency in CFD analysis.
• Knowledge of fire suppression interfaces.
• Background in utility-scale storage projects.
