What you will do

• Build and own the cost model for modular data center products across structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls scopes.
• Produce accurate estimates at every design release to ensure project costs are understood before commitment.
• Price design alternatives rapidly to provide engineers with cost facts on trade-offs like cooling and electrical distribution.
• Interrogate vendor quotes and build should-cost models for equipment categories that dominate unit costs.
• Reconcile estimates against actuals after each build to continuously improve model accuracy.

Requirements

Location: Must be based in Austin, TX (On-site role)

• Proven experience estimating mechanical, electrical, or modular construction scopes including takeoffs and unit pricing.
• Ability to build and maintain complex cost models that hold up under scrutiny.
• Experience reconciling estimates versus actuals and adjusting assumptions based on data.
• Track record of working directly with design engineers during early product development.
• Strong understanding of cost failure points such as scope gaps, labor productivity, and freight.

Nice to have

• Experience with data center or mission-critical estimating.
• Knowledge of modular or offsite manufacturing cost structures.
• Familiarity with NECA or MCAA labor units.
• Experience with estimating platforms beyond standard spreadsheets.
