Mechanical Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 annually plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Develop analytical models for water and energy consumption.
• Create equipment layouts and flow diagrams for central utility plants and prepare equipment bid packages, specifications, and submittal reviews.
• Review mechanical designs and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems with architects, electrical engineers, contractors, and project managers.
• Monitor construction installation through site visits, resolve design and field conflicts, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Analyze testing data, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and support commissioning and optimization.
• Manage vendor coordination, review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience, including 3–5 years preferred, in mechanical systems design and construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Experience reading construction drawings and specifications, testing and commissioning procedures, and building codes.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco in a fast-paced construction environment.

Nice to have

• Data center or similar industrial environment experience.
• AutoCAD or Revit familiarity.
• Professional Engineer license or Engineer in Training certification.
• Experience with modular construction.
