What you will do
- Plan and direct the engineering department supporting the Sedalia manufacturing operation.
- Lead the plant Continuous Improvement Council and implement improvement initiatives through training and organized events.
- Develop, design, and maintain manufacturing process lines and improve production productivity.
- Prepare and execute capital strategies for process improvements, capacity expansion, and new product lines.
- Industrialize new products, materials, processes, and technologies to support future operational requirements.
- Coordinate with managers on safety, quality, environmental plans, material specifications, project budgets, and schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least five years of process engineering or process management experience.
- Experience completing projects through collaboration and teamwork.
- Continuous improvement training and experience, including methods such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Gemba, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, or Heijunka.
- Strong team-building, communication, analytical thinking, planning, budgeting, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and perform frequent walking, standing, squatting, and bending; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds and use of required personal protective equipment.
Nice to have
- Masterβs degree in engineering or an MBA.
- Metallurgical or plastics-processing experience in the wire and cable industry.
