Senior Thermal Engineer (Liquid Cooling Systems)

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year plus significant equity

What you will do

• Lead the design and optimization of thermal management systems for high-performance data center products.
• Develop water cooling solutions using internal manifolds, quick disconnects, coolant distribution units, and heat exchangers.
• Design direct-to-processor cooling systems for high-power processors and other critical components.
• Run thermal simulations to predict performance and guide cooling system optimization.
• Evaluate thermal interface materials and heat sink designs to improve thermal conductivity and heat dissipation.
• Oversee testing, validation, documentation, and cross-functional integration with mechanical engineers, electrical systems engineers, and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of thermal engineering experience focused on water cooling and advanced thermal management.
• Extensive experience with manifolds, quick disconnects, CDUs, heat exchangers, and direct-to-processor cooling.
• Proficiency with thermal simulation tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of thermal interface materials, heat sinks, and advanced cooling technologies.
• Ability to work on-site in San Jose.

Nice to have

• Advanced degrees or certifications in thermal management or a related field.
• Experience with phase-change cooling and other cutting-edge thermal technologies.
