Mechanical Detailer (AI)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

What you will do

• Produce detailed mechanical and structural models and drawings for structures, skids, and piping assemblies.
• Detail steel and mechanical systems to fabrication level, including connections, penetrations, and BOM-linked parts.
• Translate engineering changes into updated, released drawing packages with clean revision tracking.
• Own model hygiene by building and enforcing standards, part libraries, and templates.
• Ensure all documentation is complete and clear enough for shop fitters to build without interpretation.

Requirements

• Experience detailing for fabrication in a shop, skid builder, or modular manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to create packages with weld symbols, bolt callouts, and dimensions required for assembly.
• Strong discipline in maintaining model standards, libraries, and naming conventions.
• Ability to manage revision storms and maintain version control under pressure.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including welds, bends, tolerances, and fit-up clearances.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tekla or Advance Steel.
• Plant and BIM modeling experience (Revit, Plant 3D).
• Knowledge of AWS weld symbols and AISC detailing standards.
• BIM coordination experience.
