Safety Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Own machine risk assessments for robotic work cells, AGVs, and cobot deployments, ensuring compliance with ANSI/RIA and ISO standards.
• Lead incident investigations using 5-Why and fault tree analysis to drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Chair the facility's Joint Health and Safety Committee and manage routine inspection programs.
• Partner with Engineering during equipment commissioning to integrate safety-by-design principles.
• Manage the manufacturing safety program budget and develop safety specialists and technicians.
• Serve as the site liaison for ADOSH/OSHA inspections and maintain accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

• Must be based in Phoenix, AZ for this onsite role.
• Technical engineering background (Occupational Safety, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering).
• Proven experience conducting machine risk assessments per ANSI/RIA R15.06, R15.08, or ISO standards.
• Experience leading root-cause investigations and managing safety teams or program budgets.
• Direct experience as the site point of contact for OSHA or state-plan inspections.
• Ability to track and report leading/lagging safety metrics to plant leadership.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry card.
• Experience with collaborative robots and AGV/AMR safety programs.
• Lean or Six Sigma exposure applied to safety work.
