Environmental Compliance Manager

What you will do

• Own the facility's air permit program, including tracking conditions, runtime limits, and emissions reporting.
• Manage EPCRA Tier II reporting and the SPCC spill prevention program, including training response teams.
• Establish and maintain an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Oversee the environmental compliance budget, including managing sampling labs, consultants, and disposal vendors.
• Serve as the primary liaison to ADEQ, Maricopa County Air Quality Department, and EPA Region 9 for audits and inspections.
• Manage and develop environmental specialists assigned to the program.

Requirements

• Technical background in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing air permit programs end-to-end, including emissions calculations and reporting.
• Experience owning EPCRA Tier II reporting and SPCC programs.
• Demonstrated success in standing up or maintaining an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Experience serving as the primary point of contact for state or county environmental agencies during audits.
• Ability to maintain a compliance calendar with zero missed regulatory deadlines.

Nice to have

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Title V or synthetic-minor air permit experience.
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Registered Environmental Manager (REM) credential.
• Multi-state environmental compliance experience.
