Location: On-site in Everett, Washington; eventual commissioning support in Malaga, Washington

Salary: $114,000–$157,000 per year

Fusion power company developing the Polaris prototype and Orion, with the goal of building the world's first fusion power plant and delivering clean, reliable electricity.

What you will do

  • Commission, operate, test, and evaluate process equipment for fusion fuel cycles.
  • Support Polaris operations, including fueling, exhaust processing, and purification.
  • Lead testing and startup operations involving radioactive materials as a Tritium Authorized User.
  • Collaborate with design teams on system buildout, experimental testing, process validation, and data analysis.
  • Provide remote and eventual on-site commissioning support for fuel cycle processes at the Orion fusion power plant in Malaga, Washington.
  • Develop maintenance strategies to improve fuel cycle system reliability throughout the operational lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Nuclear, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or operations roles.
  • Strong understanding of heat and mass balances, fluid flow, instrumentation, controls, safety, P&IDs, and PFDs.
  • Experience designing and leading test campaigns, gathering key data, and determining fundamental system behavior.
  • Experience commissioning, operating, and troubleshooting equipment in an operating plant environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Everett, Washington.

Nice to have

  • Experience with hydrogen or tritium systems, helium isotope separation, vacuum and cryogenic processes, gas analytics, elemental separation, or related process technologies.
