Head of Supplier Quality

Location: San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; New York, NY; or U.S. Remote. Location type: On-site.

Salary: $155,000–$262,000 per year, plus equity for full-time roles.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of supplier quality engineers across manufacturing and data center infrastructure.
• Own supplier quality from supplier selection and qualification through delivery.
• Lead supplier audits and ongoing performance management for manufactured components, building materials, and infrastructure systems.
• Develop and enforce quality standards, inspection protocols, and acceptance criteria.
• Own quality KPIs and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions through closure.
• Represent supplier quality in leadership reviews, executive escalations, and customer business reviews, including founder-level communication.

Requirements

• Experience leading supplier quality across manufacturing and large-scale infrastructure or construction.
• Experience managing and growing a quality engineering team and setting functional standards.
• Deep knowledge of supplier qualification, audits, inspection protocols, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Ability to communicate credibly with executives and founders in leadership and customer reviews.
• Ability to work on-site in the United States or from the listed U.S. Remote arrangement.

Nice to have

• Supplier quality experience across both hardware manufacturing and construction materials.
• Experience with hyperscale or data center supply chains.
• Six Sigma or CQE certification.
• Experience building a supplier quality function from scratch.
