Operational Excellence and PMO Leader (Manufacturing)

Location: Suffolk, Virginia, United States; onsite at a large chemical manufacturing facility. The role includes occasional travel for meetings and cross-site training or assistance.

Salary: $107,500–$157,663 per year, plus discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Deploy the site Lean Six Sigma roadmap using VSM, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, standard work, 5S, SMED, TPM, and visual management.
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput, waste elimination, quality, cost savings, and SQDIP performance.
• Coach Operations Managers and production teams in problem-solving discipline and continuous improvement capabilities.
• Lead the PMO across CAPEX and OPEX projects using charters, governance cadences, KPIs, and RACI structures.
• Coordinate cross-functional project portfolios with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain.
• Support Manufacturing 4.0 digital transformation and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, continuous improvement, or project management.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred; Green Belt accepted with progress toward Black Belt.
• Experience leading Kaizens and structured problem-solving initiatives.
• Strong communication, facilitation, data-driven decision-making, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Suffolk, Virginia, including movement through multiple plant levels and possible use of stairs or ladders; PPE may be required.
