Senior IT Cloud Operations Engineering Specialist (GCP)

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada; flexible hybrid working model with in-person and virtual work supported.

Salary: $104,400–$135,700 CAD annually

What you will do

• Develop and reinforce complex, globally distributed cloud infrastructure.
• Handle operational tickets and on-call pages while expanding PowerShell-based automation.
• Own and improve the Prometheus, Grafana, and Victoria Metrics monitoring stack.
• Automate certificate lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, server provisioning, and configuration through infrastructure as code.
• Build self-healing, fault-tolerant systems and predictive AI/ML monitoring for high-availability environments.
• Implement AI-driven cost optimization and anomaly detection while collaborating with cloud, development, security, server operations, and solution engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in IT or cloud operations, including leadership of complex cloud infrastructure projects.
• Advanced experience with GCP and GKE; AWS experience is an advantage.
• Advanced PowerShell skills, with proficiency in Bash, Python, and Terraform.
• Strong SQL skills across MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery, plus experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Victoria Metrics.
• Associate-level GCP or AWS certification required; experience with Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, Claude, or Copilot is expected.
