Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Canada, limited to Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo. Candidates may be invited to attend one in-person interview at the nearest hirify.global office.

Salary: CAD 145,900–197,400 annually, with a midpoint of CAD 171,600, plus equity, health and wellness stipends, retirement savings matching, and extended health benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Build and maintain local development, deployment, and observability tooling integrated with AWS, CircleCI, and other infrastructure components.
• Improve continuous deployment performance and production reliability.
• Participate in the production on-call rotation and improve the on-call experience.
• Manage incident response and collaborate with product engineering teams on reliable software releases.
• Mentor peers and collaborate effectively across functions during high-pressure situations.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience providing systems support in a cloud environment, preferably AWS; Azure experience is useful.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience optimizing continuous deployment performance and managing incidents across multiple projects.
• Programming experience with Ruby, Python, or Bash.
• Strong knowledge of reliability, automation, orchestration, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
• Ability to work in an on-call rotation and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Production support experience with Ruby on Rails, GQL, or React applications.
• Experience with security, scalability, and observability.
• Kubernetes experience.
• Experience managing networking, DNS, domain infrastructure, or Cloudflare.

Hiring process

• 45-minute Talent team interview.
• 60-minute Hiring Manager interview, followed by a take-home challenge and 90-minute Functional interview.
