Senior DevOps Developer (AWS)

Location: Ontario, Canada — Remote

Salary: CAD 107,000–157,300 annual base salary, with offers potentially exceeding this range based on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Build, operate, and continuously improve highly available, resilient, and scalable cloud-native services.
• Design solutions with Infrastructure, Systems, Software Engineering, and Platform teams to improve developer productivity, reliability, security, and availability.
• Maintain Kubernetes-based workloads, AWS infrastructure, MongoDB-backed services, observability platforms, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Develop deployment and configuration tooling and define CI/CD automation for service updates.
• Drive SLO/SLI practices, service reviews, fire drills, chaos testing, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
• Perform zero-downtime upgrades, troubleshoot production performance and stability issues, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure and 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years as an SRE Developer.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, architectures, and methods, with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Experience with scripting using JavaScript, Python, or Linux/Unix Shell.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, SaaS databases, and cloud automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
• Experience defining and building CI/CD processes and using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or Spinnaker.
• Experience building AWS applications with services including Step Functions, IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, and Lambda.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile development, REST APIs, networking, and security concepts.
• Experience with log ingestion, monitoring, and discoverability tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, or Bugsnag.
• Security and audit experience, including SOC 2 or FedRAMP.
