TL;DR
Director of Tampa Operations and SOCOM (Government Operations and Business Development): Establishing and leading VES operations in Tampa while managing SOCOM and government customer engagement, contract oversight, tactical demonstrations, partnerships, and growth opportunities with an accent on government acquisition, program execution, and customer relationships. Focus on building the Tampa presence, translating mission needs into funded opportunities, overseeing contract and field operations, and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Location: Tampa, Florida, USA; must reside in or relocate to the Tampa area

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

  • Establish, lead, and grow hirify.global operations and a regional customer engagement center in Tampa.
  • Build senior relationships with USSOCOM, DHS, other government organizations, operational users, acquisition professionals, and industry partners.
  • Develop growth strategies, qualify opportunities, manage the pipeline, and support capture, proposals, pricing, demonstrations, and contract transitions.
  • Develop defense-industry partnerships, teaming arrangements, subcontracting relationships, reseller opportunities, and co-developed solutions.
  • Oversee contracts, task orders, funding, deliverables, schedules, staffing, risks, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead tactical demonstrations, exercises, evaluations, field events, deployments, after-action reviews, and Tampa-based multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Former U.S. Government civilian with at least 20 years of relevant experience in acquisition, program management, technical organizations, operations, or related mission areas.
  • Significant experience leading multidisciplinary technical, acquisition, program, or operational teams.
  • Expert knowledge of U.S. Government organizations, acquisition processes, budgeting, appropriations, funding execution, and approvals.
  • Experience working with senior government leaders, contracting organizations, program offices, operational users, and industry partners.
  • Strong knowledge of contract execution, task orders, funding modifications, deliverables, schedules, risk management, and contractor performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, briefing, and executive engagement skills.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience supporting USSOCOM, Special Operations Forces, or related program and acquisition organizations.
  • Relationships within the Tampa defense and national security community.
  • Experience with command-and-control systems, tactical software, mission systems, edge computing, tactical communications, or data integration.
  • Experience with demonstrations, operational evaluations, exercises, fielding activities, capture management, proposals, pricing, or government-industry teaming.
  • PMP certification, Defense Acquisition Workforce credentials, relevant degree, or familiarity with CRM, ERP, project management, and financial management systems.
