Embedded Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid attendance required at least three times per week.

Salary: $123,200–$189,100 base compensation per year, plus bonus potential and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop C++ software connecting the autonomy stack with vehicle sensors and custom hardware.
• Design, document, and implement scalable, low-latency runtime software on Linux-based systems.
• Generate requirements and improve reliability through continuous integration, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams and mentor other developers.
• Deliver complex software projects through incremental development.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience writing production-quality software.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience with C++11 or later.
• Knowledge and practical application of software development best practices.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from Sunnyvale, California, with in-office attendance at least three times per week.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of production software development experience.
• Embedded Linux/POSIX development and embedded build systems such as Buildroot or Yocto.
• Experience with safety-critical development, cameras, radar, lidar, networking, ROS, QNX, or VxWorks.
• Experience with C, Python, Bash, or Go.
