Engineering Site Lead (AI Infrastructure)

Location: New York, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $300,000–$375,000 per year plus equity

hirify.global is building a high-performance data platform for machine learning applications, supporting use cases such as fraud detection, identity verification, and clean energy optimization.

What you will do

• Lead all engineering activities for the New York site and manage engineers building hirify.global's data platform.
• Hire, develop, and grow engineering managers as the organization expands.
• Partner with the founders on technical strategy and the long-term product and platform roadmap.
• Design the organizational structure, hiring plan, and leadership pipeline for the engineering site.
• Establish engineering processes that support high velocity and quality.
• Work with customers and executives to translate requirements into solutions for real-world ML challenges.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management.
• Experience managing managers or readiness to build and lead a multi-layer organization.
• Experience at an early-stage startup and with production ML systems or data infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills, systems thinking, and close technical engagement.
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining engineers and engineering leaders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience as a site lead or founding leader of a new engineering office.
• Experience with Rust, distributed systems, query planners, compilers, data infrastructure, or PaaS-like software.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations from single-digit teams to multiple teams.
