Senior Manager - Digital Engineering

Location: Newport News, VA; remote or hybrid in accordance with company policy

Salary: $9,458.97–$16,551.03 per month; bonus or incentive plan eligible

What you will do

• Lead and develop engineering teams delivering scalable, secure, and reliable digital platform capabilities.
• Modernize legacy applications into cloud-native services using APIs, microservices, event-driven design, and integration frameworks.
• Establish engineering practices across software development, testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational readiness.
• Guide solution designs and architectural decisions while managing technical risks, scalability, performance, and technical debt.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, UX, Infrastructure, Security, and other stakeholders to deliver enterprise software and business priorities.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and software engineers through organizational and technology transformation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience leading application modernization, digital transformation, or large-scale technology initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with modern application architectures and cloud-native distributed applications and services.
• Knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, observability, and production support.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical decision-making skills.
