Senior Manager, Platform Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Platform Engineering team covering DevOps, App Security, SRE, and FinOps.
• Own the build, deployment, and runtime platforms that enable engineering teams to ship safely, quickly, and reliably.
• Set technical strategy, manage technical debt, sequence roadmap deliverables, and document architectural tradeoffs.
• Strengthen application security, data privacy, access control, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices.
• Build observability and cloud-cost visibility systems, and lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Coach emerging leaders and align platform objectives across engineering, product, data, research, and partner success.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software management engineering experience across infrastructure, systems, and application layers.
• Deep hands-on expertise in DevOps and SRE, including production delivery, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD, AWS, Docker or similar build tools, environment scripting, and infrastructure as code across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Experience with application security, data privacy, access control, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, secure SDLC, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or NIST CSF.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana, plus incident management and postmortem practices.
• Strong cross-team leadership, communication, strategic planning, mentoring, and execution skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with voter file data or political data.
• Experience or interest in political technology, civic technology, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations.
