TL;DR
Product Designer (B2B SaaS/AI): Designing core workflow surfaces such as issues, cycles, and project views for Plane's cloud and self-hosted work management platform with an accent on dense interfaces, design systems, and usability. Focus on owning product design end to end, designing for both cloud and self-hosted environments, and resolving complex tradeoffs between consistency, flexibility, and technical constraints.

What you will do
- Own the design of core workflow surfaces including issues, cycles, and project views from problem framing through high-fidelity specifications.
- Extend and maintain the design system, creating new patterns where needed and protecting consistency across the product.
- Run usability tests, interpret friction points as design problems, and reprioritize the design roadmap based on findings.
- Design for both Cloud users and customers running self-hosted deployments across varied infrastructure and screen sizes.
- Collaborate daily with product managers and engineers across San Francisco and Hyderabad.
- Document and defend design decisions clearly in discussions with engineers and users.
Requirements
- End-to-end product design experience, including taking an ambiguous problem through to a shipped interface.
- Strong ability to design dense, data-heavy interfaces such as task lists, tables, and kanban boards.
- Fluency in Figma and ability to produce developer-ready specifications.
- Experience working within or building a design system.
- Clear written and verbal communication for explaining design rationale and decisions.
Nice to have
- Contribution to , experience using it in a self-hosted environment, or strong product opinions as a user.
- Hands-on usability testing or user research experience.
- Experience designing for developer or technical audiences.
- Experience at a B2B SaaS startup.
