Revenue Specialist, Commerical Billing, MVA (Remote) (Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management)

What you will do

• Research Motor Vehicle Accident and health insurance claims using proprietary systems, online medical resources, and billing tools.
• Request, obtain, and review medical records, provider notes, explanations of benefits, and supporting account documentation.
• Contact insurance payers to check claim status, coordinate benefits, rebill claims, and escalate unresolved issues.
• Resolve denied claims by submitting corrected claims and filing appeals.
• Review remittances, investigate underpayments, and support timely resolution of health and government insurance accounts receivable.
• Identify denial trends and communicate issues, system errors, and HIPAA questions to leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of healthcare billing or collections experience and experience with EMR or billing systems.
• At least 2 years of client-facing or customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of experience resolving health insurance or government insurance claims.
• Intermediate understanding of payer and provider claims processing, health insurance claims, and data requirements related to Motor Vehicle Accident claims.
• Basic understanding of MVA legal requirements, strong computer proficiency, analytical skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
