Pre-Commissioning Work Pack Engineer (HPC)

Location: Onsite in Bridgewater, Somerset, UK, at Hinkley Point C

What you will do

• Prepare detailed pre-commissioning work packs containing scope, drawings, test procedures, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, client, and contractor teams to define system boundaries, test requirements, and completion criteria.
• Plan and sequence pre-commissioning activities in line with project schedules and system handover milestones.
• Track deliverables in completion systems, including CMS, ITPs, check sheets, and turnover packages.
• Participate in field walkdowns, punch-listing, readiness reviews, and resolution of technical or system boundary issues.
• Develop bills of materials and define temporary equipment requirements for pressure testing, coordinating with design and procurement teams.

Requirements

• Experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, or system completion on large industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong mechanical, piping, or process engineering knowledge and the ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, system boundaries, and engineering drawings.
• Experience preparing or managing construction, pre-commissioning, or commissioning work packs.
• Knowledge of system handover processes, ITPs, test procedures, quality documentation, safe working practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with completion management systems such as CMS, MCPlus, GoCompletions, or similar; CCNSG qualification required.
• Ability to integrate RAMS and support installation and commissioning teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in nuclear, oil and gas, power generation, major infrastructure, or highly regulated projects, including Hinkley Point C.
• Knowledge of hydrostatic, leak, nitrogen, or helium testing; flushing, cleaning, LOTO, system energisation, and mechanical completion workflows.
• Experience with digital work-pack or structured handover platforms, AVEVA 3D, Bluebeam, or MS Visio.
• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Process, or Piping Engineering.
• Joint integrity or bolting training such as ECITB MJI10/18/19.
