Software Engineer (Agentic Code Review, Gitar)

Location: On-site in San Mateo, California, or Geneva, Switzerland. Candidates must be based in the posted location; relocation support is available for the right person. Three anchor office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

What you will do

• Design and build program analysis systems that reason about code intent, control flow, data flow, and behavior across multiple languages and large repositories.
• Combine static analysis, dynamic analysis, and large language models to detect functional bugs, logic errors, and behavioral issues.
• Build AI agents and orchestration layers for pull request review, fix generation, CI validation, failure root-cause analysis, and automated merging.
• Develop indexing, retrieval, and embedding systems that provide models with relevant codebase, dependency, convention, and intent context.
• Own production characteristics including correctness, accuracy, latency, cost, observability, and security in a zero-trust environment.
• Collaborate with the hirify.globalQube team and customers to integrate deterministic analysis with AI-native validation and address real engineering workflows.

Requirements

• PhD or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, correctness, and performance.
• Practical experience with AI and LLM-driven development.
• Exposure to or strong interest in static analysis, dynamic analysis, type systems, intermediate representations, control-flow analysis, data-flow analysis, or symbolic execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with engineering customers and make trade-offs across correctness, latency, cost, and developer experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building compilers, build systems, IDE tooling, linters, refactoring tools, test infrastructure, or large-scale code transformation systems.
• Experience in industry research labs, large-scale developer infrastructure teams, or open-source compiler, analyzer, or developer-tool projects.
